The 2018 Biennale Cinema
The Venice International Film Festival is organized by the Venice Biennale, and this year it will take place between 29th August and 8th September. It is the oldest film festival in the world, with its first edition dating back to 1932. The most important directors and actors of the past and the present have paraded on the red carpets at Venice Lido to present some of the major works of cinematic history.
This year, the opening film will be First Man by Damien Chazelle, director of other successes like Whiplash and most recently La La Land. The movie is a biopic about astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, and Venice will host its world premiere. The film will be competing to win the prestigious Golden Lion, the award assigned to the best film presented at this Festival every year.
